Sweep is a collaborative cleaning robot. It assists a street cleaner during his shift and takes on the repetitive tasks with a heavy physical load. The concept demonstrates how outdated labor processes and infrastructures can be upgraded by implementing autonomous technologies in a sustainable way.

Since the robot follows the employee behind his back, the conventional relation between machine and operator is getting dissolved. Universal feedback mechanisms and new principles for human-machine interaction enable a smooth workflow. Biomimetic movement patterns, for example, help to indicate certain states and intentions of the robot. This is essential not only for the employee but also for pedestrians to understand and foresee the behavior of the machine on open spaces.
