Leon Laskowski
Mentor: Prof. Carola Zwick
Leon Laskowski illustrates with his laser-sintered task lamp ALL IN: how existing systems of industrial mass production can be rethought and how their highly complex logistics chains can be radically shortened with the help of the innovation potential of additive manufacturing. The world’s first task lamp printed in one piece in 3D already comes assembled from the printer, which in turn could stand anywhere in the world, saving on transport routes through local production. Instead of elaborate and expensive industrial tools, moulds and assembly lines, a single digital file is used. Instead of dozens of individual components of different materials, origins and coatings, a product is made almost entirely from a single material, in one place, in one operation and in one machine.
